HIIT: Pure Cardio

  1. 1st Segment: 8 rounds at 20/40
  • Box Jumps (14"): 18, 17
  • Tuck Jumps:       31, 29
  • Fast Kicks:          76, 74
  • Low Skaters:      28, 26
  1. 2nd Segment: 8 rounds at 15/30
  • Box Jumps:   14, 13
  • Tuck Jumps:  21, 20
  • Fast Kicks:    67, 66
  • Low Skaters: 24, 25
  1. 3rd Segment: 8 rounds at 10/20
  • Box Jumps:    10, 10
  • Tuck Jumps:   17, 16
  • Fast Kicks:     45, 46
  • Low Skaters:  16, 16

I finished 2 rounds of each exercise before moving on down the list. I wish I had something higher besides the 14" high step, it was a little too easy - good thing I put it first. Even though it wasn't too difficult it still got my heart rate up, and was a nice preparer for the rest of the workout. Tuck Jumps and Fast Kicks suck. Really suck.Tight abs and glutes are crucial, and I thought I was going to be killed. For the Low Skaters, I leaped as wide as I was able, which was very difficult after the kicks. I am going to make the cross country team do some of these exercises because there is NO WAY you can do this workout and not have a stronger heart.

I love this workout. :D

This workout was killer!!!!! I changed up some of the intervals as I have osteo-arthritis in my right clavicle that gives me a bother now and again. All in all...this workout was puke-worthy...I LOVED it...I was literally drenched in sweat

Dayummmmmm Ms M I love the looks of this one, it looks very tough, I am going to add this on some of my days off that I don't do Kettlebells...do you mind if I write down the workout?? thanks for sharing, after I do it I'll let you know how I really felt about it

I definitely plan to try this. I have 12 risers total so I can go up a little higher on my step bench.

Have you done it yet, if so how high did you set your step? Mine was set at 14", but I would be afraid to stack it higher than 18" even though it seems to be pretty stable. In my mind's eye I keep seeing my toe catch as it falls like a Jenga tower. How did it go for you?

I am so happy you are thanking me and not cussing me out!

Didn't you just feel so tough when it was over? I haven't felt like that in a long time, it was like my lungs were opening up in places they hadn't needed to for a long time.

HI Melissa,

I like your website. I did this high intensity work out and 3 hours later my legs are still sore. It was great at working my calves, thighs, etc. I DO NOT like the fast kicks - you are right, they really really suck which means I need to do them. :)

It was great seeing you again last night.
