Kiss my Fat Grrr!

I AM TIRED OF WINTER AND THIS FREAKING EXTRA LAYER OF FAT ON MY STOMACH AND ARMS AND HIPS! All of my clothes have gotten tight and it's so annoying, rawr! I haven't been as motivated this winter as I was in years past to get moving post-Christmas and push myself, usually after New Year's I am revving to get going again.

For some reason, the winter weather and short days have me down so much more than they have in the past and I've had much less energy (I wonder how much of that is going Vegan) so I haven't been working out like I normally do and when I do I haven't been putting in the effort I normally would, plus I move around MUCH LESS during the day. But this week has really been a break through for me! I am tired of feeling icky and lazy, and I am feeling motivated to put in that extra oomph! Getting away with Dan for an extended weekend and Spring being around the corner really has done an awful lot to lift my spirits too. :)

 

  1. The Workout:
  2. 10 Tactical Lunges
  3. 10 Swings
  4. 5 Burpees w/ 2 Push-Ups
  5. Repeat for 5 Rounds
  6. 3 Minute Break
  7. Repeat for 4 Sets total
  8. My times:
  • Set 1: 6:28
  • Set 2: 7:07
  • Set 3: 7:07
  • Set 4: 7:12
  1. Total Work Time: 27:54.

Even though I am behind where I was last year (ahem, and the year before) in terms of cardiovascular training and eating well I am so happy that it is never too late to make the decision to turn yourself around and change your way of thinking. (*oh, and I started eating meat again, don't know if that has something to do with it)

What's your take on "traditional" weight lifting? I think I read that you moved away from that???

You're right, I have moved away from traditional weights but I still think they are awesome training tools. I just think you get more bang for your workout with kettlebells because they tone & strengthen multiple body parts at the same time and provide a cardio workout all the while. I am a fan of efficiency.

Thanks Melissa for a very pregnancy friendly workout.. low on the impact, lots of modifying possibilities. I noticed this of your other ones in my workout binder too today. Thanks for keeping me running. And whose music was that? (Was it a Christian band?)

am going to do this one tomorrow! i found KBs last year and am slowly learning them. hurt my elbow and had to take a break since Christmas but slowly easing myself back. nothing makes me feel stronger! thanks for your motivation!! love your website!

good grief! i only did 1 set Melissa! took me 10 minutes!! i decided to tuck that one away for another day;) i did a shorter circuit....but LOVE how strong I feel afterwards!
